"Daoxiang Village" was originally a common shop name in food stores in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, mainly selling "cake bait and salted garden vegetables with candied flowers and fruits, which are abundant in Jiangsu". The original reason why the food store was named "Daoxiang Village" was difficult to verify for a while. Some people think it comes from classical poetry.

Xin Qiji, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, once wrote a famous sentence, "In the fragrance of rice, it is said that the harvest year is abundant, and the frogs are heard", and the words "rice" and "fragrance" are linked together and chanted. In the novel A Dream of Red Mansions, the residence of Li Wan, one of the twelve women in Jinling, in the Grand View Garden is called "Daoxiang Village", and Lin Daiyu also has a famous saying that "one bed of leeks is ripe in spring, and ten miles of rice flowers are fragrant". "Daoxiang Village", a name that means abundant crops, beauty and peace, has a unique flavor when it is used as the name of a food and pastry shop.

1895, Guo Yusheng, a native of Jinling, Jiangsu Province, came to Beijing with several buddies, all of whom were well versed in the production technology of Nanwei food. Guo Yusheng soon established a shop dealing in Nanwei food in Kannonji (now north of Dongkou Road, Dashilan West Street), the most prosperous commercial center at that time. The pavement faces east and west, with three facades and a small building on the second floor. On the lintel, there is a black painted gold plaque inscribed with the words "Daoxiang Village South Goods Store", which is the predecessor of Daoxiang Village in Beijing.

Seeing that business in Daoxiang Village is booming, in 19 1 1 year, Taoxiang Village's doormen Wang Rongqing and Zhu Youqing set up another door, and put up a new signboard-Gui Xiang Village, opposite the store in Kannonji Daoxiang Village on Qianmen Street. Five years later, Zhang Senlong, who also learned the craft of "Taoxiang Village", played the name of "Taoxiangchun" in Dong 'an market, and the Nanwei pastry in Beijing began a three-legged competition.

Since then, more and more Nanwei food shops have appeared in Beijing, and the trend of "opening south shops and opening north" in the pastry industry has become more and more prosperous. Around the 1920s, besides Daoxiangchun and Gui Xiang villages in Beijing, there were Mingji, Heji and Senji Daoxiang villages in Tianjin, Baoding Daoxiang Village, Shijiazhuang Daoxiang Village and Taiyuan Old Village. For a time, mud and sand were mixed.

Affected by this, the business of Daoxiang Village in Beijing, founded by Guo Yusheng, became increasingly depressed, and the current situation was turbulent and warlords fought repeatedly. By 1926, the famous Daoxiang Village South Goods Store in Beijing was forced to close down. Who would have thought that Daoxiang Village in Beijing had been closed for nearly 60 years.

After the reform and opening up, Daoxiang Village in Beijing finally ushered in a new life. With the support of the Federation of Industry and Commerce and the government, Daoxiang Village invited the old technicians and workers back to reopen and gained a good market share.
