Change bait frequently
Some fishing friends think that fishing for stone carp with a hand pole is the same as catching big fish with a sea pole. If there is no fish to eat the hook, they will always wait without changing the bait. This is wrong. When fishing for stone carp, no matter whether there are fish eating the hook or not, the bait must be changed at a certain time to create nests and retain fish from the beginning to the end without interruption. The author once observed the whole process of stone dace eating hooks in clear water more than 1 meter deep. When I first threw the hook and baited a few times, no fish came to eat. After changing the bait and setting the hook dozens of times, it took about a few minutes before any fish came to eat.
The first thing that came to eat was small miscellaneous fish, and then two or three stone dace came. In a few minutes, there were more and more stone dace. As soon as the bait is thrown into the water, many small fish rush to eat it. If the stone dace cannot grab it, the bait will be eaten up by other small fish in less than half a minute. If the bait is not changed in time at this time, only the bare hook will be left under the water. All the fish, including the stone carp, will quickly leave their nests to look for food elsewhere and will not come back for a long time. If the bait is changed in time, the fish will continue to stay in their nests.
If a stone carp grabs a bite, it will immediately bite the bait and pull the hook, leave the fish school and run outside the den to eat. At this time, if you lift the rod, withdraw the fish into the protection, re-hook the bait and drop the nest too slowly, the fish will become impatient after waiting for a long time and will disperse from the nest in a short period of time.
Therefore, in order to catch more fish, no matter whether there are fish eating the hook or not, the bait must be changed frequently from beginning to end, and the word "quick" should be the top priority, that is, hanging the bait, throwing the hook, lifting the rod, withdrawing the fish, and releasing the fish into the protection zone. If no fish eats the hook, how long should it take to change the bait? This is how I do it: change it every 10 seconds before catching the fish. This is to create a nest to attract fish. . If the fish are hooked very densely, change it every 6 to 8 seconds; if the fish are hooked generally densely, change it every 12 to 14 seconds; if the fish is hooked slowly, change it every 16 to 18 seconds; if the fish stops in the middle, change it every 12 to 14 seconds.
