2. One year on New Year's Eve, when people took refuge in the mountains, an old beggar came from outside the village. Some people closed windows and locked doors, some packed their bags, and there were scenes of panic everywhere. No one cared about the begging old man. Only an old woman in the east of the village packed jiaozi for the old man to eat, and advised him to go up the mountain quickly to avoid Nian beast. In order to repay the kindness of the old woman, the old man told her that Nian was most afraid of red, fire and exploding, and told her to wear red clothes, post red paper on the door, light red candles, and burn bamboo in the courtyard to make an explosion, so that Nian beast could be driven away. In the middle of the night, Nian beast broke into the village and found the village brightly lit. His eyes were blinded by the dazzling red, and he heard the loud firecrackers coming from someone's house and ran away.
3. Since then, people have known how to drive away the New Year. Every year on New Year's Eve, every household sticks red couplets and sets off firecrackers. Every household is brightly lit by candlelight, and it is better to wait for the new year. In the early morning of the first day, we have to go to relatives and friends to congratulate each other and congratulate each other on the ravages of the Year Beast. Later, this custom spread more and more widely, and became the most solemn traditional festival among the people in China. This is the origin of the Spring Festival.
