Treatment of abalone:
1, salt water scrubbing and soaking
Abalone is very picky about the growing environment, and will only grow in clean waters. But even so, abalone still inevitably have mucus and parasitic algae attached. Therefore, we need to use salt grains to scrub the surface of abalone first, one can remove the fishy odor, and the other can kill the surface of bacteria and other microorganisms.
If you are worried that scrubbing with salt grains will harm the skin on your hands, you can also make some warm concentrated salt water and soak the abalone in the salt water, which will have the same effect. Just soak for a longer time, to about half an hour is appropriate.
2, shelling
You can cut off the shell column with the help of a knife or a small spoon, so that the abalone's meat and shell are separated.
Note:
(1) Try not to use a knife if you have a spoon. A knife is sharp and not easy to handle, and it is easy to cut your fingers.
(2) Abalone shell edges are sharp and easy to hurt your hands when you exert more force, it is recommended to wear gloves to operate.
3, remove internal organs
First, we need to understand the body structure of abalone.
Then, remove the parts we do not eat.
Removal steps:
(1) Find the black and yellow parts on the abalone meat, these are the belly and intestines of abalone.
(2) Cut open the mouth of the abalone, pull out the esophagus attached underneath, and discard it along with the mouth part.
Abalone preservation skills:
1, refrigerated preservation
Fresh abalone if the number is not much, you can choose to refrigerate the preservation of fresh abalone, room temperature conditions abalone is very easy to die and deterioration, refrigerated environment can inhibit the reproduction of bacteria, thus extending the preservation time of abalone, you can put abalone into a plastic bag and put it into the refrigerator cold storage, you can save about 4 days.
2, frozen preservation
Frozen preservation of abalone will be longer, basic preservation of 1-2 months is no problem at all. When frozen, the abalone one by one with plastic wrap, and wrap a layer of tinfoil, and finally into a clean plastic bag, into the refrigerator freezer can be stored.
