The ruins of the front hall of the Alhambra Palace are the most magnificent palace rammed-earth foundation site known to date in China and even in the ancient history of the world. Just on the basis of more than 540,000 square meters of platform foundation of the former hall, such a scale of construction was impossible to complete under the conditions at that time. In addition, all the political activities from the late Qin Shi Huang to Qin Er Shi and then to Qin Wang Ying were held in Xianyang Palace or Wangyi Palace, and Afang Palace was never mentioned.

The existence or otherwise of the Afang Palace can only be proved by the written accounts or physical objects at that time. However, no physical evidence has been found so far. If the palace was built, no matter how to burn, should be like the Qin Xianyang Palace site, there are more than a meter thick pile of rubble remains, and Afang Palace site does not. Moreover, if the palace was built, the gold and silver treasures will be looted, how can there be even a broken bowl has not survived?

The Historical Records of the Qin Dynasty: Qin Ershi reign, the Alhambra Palace, "room Hall is not yet", due to the collapse of the First Emperor, Alhambra Palace was forced to stop work, will be seven hundred thousand laborers all rushed to repair the Qin mausoleum. It is obvious that A Fang Palace could not be built in such a short time. As for Du Mu's "A Fang Palace Fu", it is based on the poet's imagination. As a matter of fact, it has long been pointed out in history that the front hall of the palace was not built, and that the descriptions of its size were all on drawings rather than in reality. Cheng Dachang of the Southern Song Dynasty wrote in "Yong Record": "The upper can sit 10,000 people, the lower can build five zhang flag, is the model of its establishment, the period to make and this." The meaning of the last two sentences is that it was designed as a model in the hope of achieving this appearance, but in fact it was not put into practice. If the Aifang Palace never existed, then Xiang Yu's trumped-up charge of "burning the Aifang Palace" was indeed unjustified.At the end of 2003, archaeological research in Shaanxi Province found that there was no burnt red soil in the soil layer of the Aibang Palace. Historians have documented that due to the fall of the emperor, work on the Aibang Palace was halted and all 700,000 workers were sent to build the Qin mausoleum. In April, the work was ready to begin, but to my surprise, Chen Sheng and Wu Guang revolted and the Aibang Palace was never completed.
