Diluents used in paint are volatile turpentine and dry linseed oil. The pigment attached to the picture has strong hardness and can keep luster for a long time after the picture is dried. With the hiding power and transparency of the pigment, the painted object is vividly displayed, with rich colors and strong three-dimensional sense. Oil painting is one of the main types of western painting.
Oil painting first appeared in Holland in the15th century. /kloc-Before the 0/5th century, pastel and Denbella were mainly used as painting materials in European painting. Because these materials are complex in manufacturing process and have the disadvantages of quick drying, difficult to modify and difficult to cover, many painters are constantly looking for more ideal painting material formulas in practice.
After many attempts, two Dutch painters, known as the Young Van Ike brothers, finally found the best formula for mixing pigment and oil, and as a result, they obtained the advantages of smooth pen carrying, moderate drying time and layer-by-layer laying. This oily pigment can be covered by Bo Tu transparent painting or opaque painting, and the color can remain bright for a long time. It can be painted on processed boards, cloth and paper, while the previous materials must be painted on elaborately made plasterboards or walls.
This greatly facilitates the transportation, exhibition and preservation of paintings. Later, after many artists perfected the materials and techniques, oil painting became a unique painting form with its rich expressive force, and now it has become an important painting type in the world.
Historical evolution of oil painting
The predecessor of oil painting is/kloc-the egg-colored painting in European painting before the 5th century, which was developed after the Dutch painter Jan Van Ecker (1385-144 1) improved the painting materials. Modern oil paintings mostly use linseed oil to blend pigments and paint on processed cloth or wood boards. Because oil painting pigments do not change color after drying, many colors will not become dirty after mixing, and painters can draw rich and realistic colors.
Oil painting pigments are opaque and have strong coverage, so the painting can be covered layer by layer from deep to shallow, giving the painting a three-dimensional effect. Oil painting has gradually become the main way of painting in the history of western painting, and the surviving western painting is mainly oil painting. With the development of time, oil paintings have gradually come into life. The most famous one is an ordinary woman in Mona Lisa, which is widely circulated. /kloc-In the late 20th century, due to the development of science and technology, many new materials were applied in the field of oil painting, such as acrylic pigments and coatings.
