The body is long oval, laterally compressed and high, and gradually lengthens backward as it grows. The dorsum is smoothly curved, while the abdomen is slow. The lipid eyelids are well developed, reaching the anterior margin of the eye at the front and the posterior margin of the pupil at the back. The muzzle is slightly pointed. Maxillary end extends below posterior margin of eye. Body covered with rounded scales, thorax completely scaly. Lateral line moderately curved anteriorly, with straight line beginning below soft bars 4-5 of second dorsal fin, straight line entirely covered with prismatic scales.
