NELUMBINIS STAMEN

13.2 Source

This product is the dried stamens of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. It is harvested on sunny days in summer when the flowers are blooming, and then dried in the sun or in the shade with paper cover.

13.3 Properties

The product is linear. Anthers twisted, longitudinal split, 1.2 ~ 1.5 cm long, about 0.1 cm in diameter, light yellow or brownish yellow. Filaments are slender, slightly curved, 1.5-1.8cm long, lavender. Gas slightly fragrant, taste astringent.

13.4 Identification

The powder is yellowish brown. The pollen grains are spherical or oblong, 45-86gm in diameter, with 3 pore grooves and granular reticulation on the surface. The epidermal cells are oblong, polygonal or irregularly shaped, and the peridermal wall is curved in a microwave-like manner; the lateral view of the outer wall is *** shaped protrusions. The inner wall cells of pollen sacs are patchy, elongated, slightly thick-walled, and the lumen is filled with yellowish brown or reddish brown material. Threaded ducts are visible.
