Bobbing is a unique Mid-Autumn Festival traditional activity of Xiamen people for hundreds of years, a unique moon cake culture and a heritage of Xiamen people to history.

According to legend, the Mid-Autumn Festival Bo Cake was invented by Zheng Chenggong when he stationed troops in Xiamen to relieve the soldiers' love for the Mid-Autumn Festival and inspire their morale. Thus, handed down from generation to generation, it has become a unique folk custom in Xiamen today.

At first, I always thought that the word "Bo" of Bo cake should be "Bo", which meant fighting. Later, when I looked it up in the dictionary, I realized that the word "Bo" had its own reasons. In ancient times, "Bo" was a kind of chess game, which later referred to gambling. Of course, following up to now, Bo cake no longer means gambling, but has become a reserved program for Xiamen people's Mid-Autumn Festival party. When the dice fall in a big porcelain bowl, they make a tinkling sound, when laughter floats from people's hearts and happy smiles are everywhere, the feeling of happiness is always particularly warm.

The Mid-Autumn Festival Bo Cake is about being happy, which is a good sign for Bo. Most people are willing to believe that the person who wins the first prize in Bo will always be particularly lucky in a year. This is of course because people's emotional sustenance is poured into Bo Cake activities. Therefore, Xiamen people always attach great importance to the Mid-Autumn Festival, and even have the saying "Small Spring Festival, Big Mid-Autumn Festival".

When many foreigners come to Xiamen, they will be moved by this custom with strong festive colors. Many of my college classmates also enjoyed this interesting and participatory activity during their studies.

Moon cakes have their own name in the Bo cake custom in Xiamen, which is called Hui cake. This is one of the indispensable "props" of the Mid-Autumn Festival Expo.

Traditional party cakes are made up of moon cakes of different sizes. A set of party cakes includes: Zhuangyuan cake 1 piece, two hall cakes, four red cakes, eight four-way cakes, two-way cakes 16, and thirty-two show cakes.

What's particularly interesting is that the "three red" cakes taste the best among the cakes, which comes from an interesting legend: in the 22nd year of Yongle (1442), palace examination, a Jiachen branch, was named Sun Yuegong as the top scholar, and Ming Chengzu thought that the combination of "yue" and "gong" was "violent" and unlucky, so he was placed third. According to the Xiamen people, the No.1 scholar is not necessarily a generation of "man of great talent", but the No.3 scholar has real talent and practical learning. Therefore, the taste of Zhuangyuan cake is just so-so, and Sanhong cake always tastes the best.

Nowadays, Bo Cake is still Xiamen people's favorite Mid-Autumn Festival activity, and it is also the most lively folk festival form. However, the form of "Hui Cake" is also changing, and more new "Hui Cake" has appeared, which is no longer moon cakes, but a combination of practical items, such as shower gel, shampoo, etc., or food, such as jelly, potato chips and cola. Anyway, it is what you want. This may be because people just want to have fun in festivals, and this fun has become more practical.

Bo cake tools:

Will be a set of cakes, a pair of dice (6), a big bowl (a little deep, and a porcelain bowl is good, so that the dice can jump in the bowl)

The method of rich cake:

It's roughly like this: everyone throws six dice into a big bowl at a time (again, it must be played with a porcelain bowl), and everyone throws dice in turn to see the number of dice to get a cake.

There are 1 cake with "four points red" (Figure 1).

There are two "four-point red" cakes (Figure 2).

If there are four identical points (except Red Four), you can get four cakes (Figure 3).

There are three "four red" cakes (Figure 4).

If the number of dice is 1 to 6, respectively, you will get the right cake (Figure 5), and then you will get the zhuangyuan cake. There are many grades for the champion. The ranking of the champion shown in Figure 6. 1-6.4 is from small to large, specifically:

If there are four "four-dot reds" (Figure 6. 1), you can choose a pie. If two people have four "four-dot reds", compare the points of the other two dice, and the one with the largest points will win.

There are five people with the same number of points (Figure 6.2), and it is common that "five children enter the subject", which is bigger than the four "four-point red" champions.

If four "four-dot reds" and two "one-dot reds" are added (Figure 6.3), it is called "golden flower inserted by the champion", which is second only to the six dice with the same number of points (Figure 6.4).

Special circumstances:

Six "Four Red Dots" (Figure 7. 1) are called "Six Red Dots", and all the cakes are owned by the investors.

Six "six blackouts" (Figure 7.2), called "six blackouts", should turn off the lights and grab cakes.

Description:

1, there is only one zhuangyuan cake, and whoever is big will get it anyway.

2. Before all the cakes are owned, the game will continue. If some cakes have been divided, you can use the way of "chasing", which is the most exciting, that is, the winner will chase the cakes from his previous winner. For example, the three red cakes have been divided, and if someone still wins, that person will get the prize back from the nearest winner of the three red cakes in the opposite direction of the game.

3. Whether or not to use six red and six black is generally in accordance with everyone's wishes. Many times, in order to take care of players and get prizes, these two situations are ignored. More importantly, few people can throw "six red" or "six black".
