Gulangyu Island was originally named "Zai Yuan". There used to be a round rock on the island, which formed a cave under the impact of the waves. Whenever the tide is high, it always sounds like drums, so it is called Gulangyu.

2. Legend of Five Dragons Playing Beads

Gulangyu Island was originally called Wulong Island, because the whole island is shaped like a pearl playing with five dragons, and that pearl is Sunlight Rock.
