Jiaozi is a traditional food in China, which is covered with a half-moon or ingot-shaped dough. The wrapped jiaozi can be used to make steamed dumplings, fried dumplings or glutinous rice balls. There are different opinions about the origin of jiaozi. Some people think that jiaozi evolved from wonton.
The earliest invention period: Jiaozi had a long development process in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Because of the high similarity between jiaozi and wonton, the earliest wonton appeared in the Three Kingdoms period, but it was later referred to as wonton in the Southern and Northern Dynasties.
