Cod breeding conditions
1. Site selection
(1) Breeding freshwater cod (large scale fertilizer) can generally be carried out in the same way as carp farming. . It is necessary to establish a pond in a place with flat terrain, good natural conditions, no pollution, and sufficient water sources.
(2) There should be no farms or chemical plants around the cod breeding ponds.
2. Pond disinfection
(1) After building the pond, you need to check the dam around the pond to make sure there are no rat holes or side leaks.
(2) Subsequently, lime needs to be used to disinfect the pond, and an isolation net must be used around the pond to prevent ducks, geese and other poultry from entering the pond.
(3) When ready, you can inject clean water into the pond. You need to carefully observe the water level. If the water level drops, you need to check whether there are holes in the pond. If there are holes, you need to remove them in time. repair.
3. Water quality
Before releasing fish, the water quality needs to be checked. If it is not suitable for the growth of freshwater cod, it needs to be adjusted immediately.
4. Water temperature
Freshwater cod (large scale fish) can generally survive in temperatures of 1-30°C.
5. Select fry and temporarily raise them in cages
(1) When selecting fry, choose high-quality fry that are the same size and cannot be significantly different. Moreover, when fry are purchased, they cannot be stocked immediately. They need to be temporarily raised through cages and other methods.
(2) When temporarily raising fry in cages, you can first put a small amount of fry into the pond water for breeding. After waiting for 3-5 days, if there is no abnormality, you can put the remaining fry Put it in the pond.
6. Stocking density
(1) In the early stage, the stocking density of freshwater cod is similar to the stocking density of carp. Generally, the stocking density of carp is about 3,000 pounds per mu.
(2) In the later stage, the stocking density of silver cod weighing 2 taels is generally 1,500-2,000 fish/acre.
7. Feeding
(1) Generally, within 5 days of stocking fry, you do not need to feed them.
(2) The first feeding is required 7-8 days after stocking. In the first 3-5 days of feeding, feed can be placed in every corner of the pond. After the fry adapt to the feed, the feeding range can be reduced until it is reduced to a fixed range.
8. Daily management
Ponds need to be inspected every day. If sick fish are found, they need to be isolated immediately. However, there are no sudden diseases in freshwater cod, and no serious ones have been found yet. Sickness.
The difference between silver cod and cod:
(1) Price: Generally speaking, the price of silver cod is higher than that of ordinary cod.
(2) Meat quality: In terms of meat texture, the meat of cod is relatively hard, while the meat of cod is soft; in terms of color, the meat of cod is darker, while the meat of cod is darker. Clearer.
