Who has heard that black-bone sheep have no breeding benefits?
Black-bone sheep is not an exotic sheep breed, let alone a transgenic sheep, but a local sheep living in Lanping, Yunnan. Besides silky fowl, it is the second material animal with genetic characteristics. Because the black-bone sheep lives in the deep mountains and is agile, it has been gradually discovered and recognized by people in recent years.

At present, the price of black-bone sheep is relatively high, mainly for two reasons. First of all, the number of black-bone sheep is scarce, and artificial speculation is not ruled out. Secondly, the nutritional value of black-bone sheep is much higher than that of ordinary sheep, which has high practical value.

Many farmers' friends pay attention to raising black-bone sheep when they see that the price of black-bone sheep is higher. But it is difficult for farmers to make money by raising black-bone sheep. There is a major problem, and that is sales.

Because the price of black-bone sheep is high, ordinary consumers will not eat it at all, so they can only take the high-end route. Pure black-bone sheep meat is mostly sold to star-rated hotels, farms and so on. And they will require long-term supply capacity to cooperate. Farmers and friends have little money, so it is impossible to breed on a large scale at first. Ordinary consumers can't afford it, and catering enterprises can't supply it for a long time, which has caused sales difficulties.

Farmers must take the hybrid route if they want to make money from black-bone sheep. Crossbreeding with black-bone sheep as male parent and local sheep as female parent. This has three advantages over breeding purebred black-bone sheep.

Advantage 1: Small investment. The price of purebred black-bone sheep is very high, so it is necessary to invest heavily in breeding purebred black-bone sheep. In this way, you only need to buy 1~2 breeding sheep, and the financial pressure is small.

Advantage 2: High reproduction rate. The reproductive performance of black-bone sheep is relatively low. Generally, only 1 one is bred in a year, most of them are 1 one, and a few are 2. Like a small-tailed Han sheep, it can produce two lambs a year, with an average of 2-3 lambs each. Because the reproductive rate of sheep is mainly influenced by ewes, if only black-bone sheep are used as rams, the reproductive rate will not be affected.

Advantage 3: improve meat quality. Although the meat quality of hybrid black-bone sheep is not as good as that of purebred black-bone sheep, it is obviously improved compared with ordinary mutton, which is more tender and delicious and rich in nutrition.

Advantage four, good sales. Because hybrid black-bone sheep have low investment and high reproduction rate, they don't need to sell as high a price as purebred black-bone sheep. Generally, it is sold at a price 20%~50% higher than that of ordinary mutton sheep, and many people will choose hybrid black-bone sheep, which is in short supply in the market.

For black-bone sheep with black bone marrow, it is better for farmers to take the hybrid route.
