BiH is an independent country on the Balkan Peninsula in Europe.
Located in the central part of the former Yugoslavia, it is neighboring Serbia in the east, bordering with Montenegro*** and the country in the southeast, and adjacent to Croatia in the west and north. The total area of 51,129 square kilometers, the capital Sarajevo. 12 century, the end of the establishment of the Principality of Bosnia, 15 century after the conquest of the Ottoman Empire. 19 century fell into the Austro-Hungarian Empire dependencies. In 1918, it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Serbia (renamed the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929), and in 1945 it became a constituent state of the Federal People's **** and State of Yugoslavia, and declared independence in 1992.
BiH terrain is predominantly mountainous, with an average elevation of 693 meters above sea level, and most of the Dinaric Mountains (also known as the "Dinaric Alps") run through the entire country from northwest to southeast, with the highest peaks being the Maghrebic Mountains, which are 2,386 meters above sea level. Bosnia is named after the Bosnian River. "Bosnian River", which means "cold" or "clear" in Serbian, and "Herzegovina", which comes from Old Highland German and means Herzegovina" comes from Old Highland German, meaning "Duke".
The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina is rectangular, with a ratio of length to width of 2:1. It is blue, with a large golden triangle and a row of white stars along one side of the triangle. The three sides of the large triangle symbolize the three main ethnic groups that make up the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina***, namely the Muslims, Serbs and Croats. The color gold, the light of the sun, symbolizes the hopefulness in the hearts of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The blue background and the white five-pointed star symbolize Europe and signify that BiH is part of Europe. This flag was adopted on 10/2/1998.
