Explanation of egg drop soup. Fresh eggs are shelled and beaten into paste, and seasoned with water to make soup. It is named after it condenses into floccules after cooking. People's Daily 1982.3.22: "A bowl of egg drop soup is served on the table, with chopped green onion, golden egg drop and red pepper oil beads floating on it." Also stored as "egg flowers." Wang Xiyan's "Ordinary Things": "I whispered to my daughter to eat the bowl of egg blossoms specially knocked for her on the stove."
