Last year. We packed 150 jiaozi at home and sent it to the nursing home to share with the elderly. This year, at the suggestion of the dean of the nursing home, we moved jiaozi's venue to the kitchen of the nursing home, naturally to strengthen the atmosphere of the New Year.
The weather on this day was not very good, and it began to drizzle in the morning, but the rain did not extinguish our enthusiasm. We came to the nursing home with the materials prepared in advance. We had prepared jiaozi with two flavors of cabbage and green vegetables before, and considering that most of the elderly in nursing homes are old and their taste has deteriorated, we added more salt and monosodium glutamate. Who knows, the aunts in nursing homes still think it is too weak.
When people arrived, we started the mighty project of wrapping jiaozi. It seems simple to wrap jiaozi, but there are many points for attention. We took out a dumpling wrapper, coated it with a layer of water with our forefinger, added meat with chopsticks, folded it in half gently, aligned the edges, and then compacted the edges with our hands. Only by pressing five handprints can a jiaozi be completed. The amount of water, the amount of meat and the strength of folding are all exquisite.
Aunties in nursing homes are cooking jiaozi, so naturally we are not idle. We take out snacks prepared before and distribute them to the elderly, and chat with them and take photos as a souvenir. Before, we asked calligraphy lovers to write three pairs of Spring Festival couplets for us, namely, "The first couplet: Happiness is like flowing water in the East China Sea, and the second couplet: Life is better than Nanshan." "Part One; All the old people in the world are parents, and the second part: the younger generation in the world will give up their children and grandchildren. "The first part: Shi Sheng Shi Chang Chun is not old, and the second part: have enough food and clothing to live a long life" is ready to be given to the nursing home, just in time to post it for the nursing home in person. Some students found waste newspapers and began to clean the glass, clean up and live in harmony with the elderly. In our spare time, we studied the menu of the nursing home. It is said that it was written by an old man. The chic handwriting first made people shine. After careful study, we found that the menu of the nursing home was very scientific and reasonable. We are relieved to hear the old people say that their recipes are based on their preferences, at least they are not materially poor. What they lack is not food, clothing, housing and transportation, but spiritual care. Our jiaozi is very ordinary, but it is wrapped with our heart, and they can naturally feel the warmth.
The dean of the nursing home said that every time a child comes, the old people are always very happy. Even if some people just come for show and worship, what the old people like most is excitement, and what they fear most is loneliness. What a pain and sorrow for the happy people.
I always feel that there is very little we can do, but we will do our best and never pose. Social practice is social practice, but it is by no means a form. Naturally, there is our hard work, and we will always face the society with a pure heart. At the same time, we also hope that we can use our actions to wake up this society, so that more people can join us and let the warmth spread all over the world.
