The liver is vital for digesting food and removing toxic substances from the body. Liver disease can be caused by genetic disorders or by a variety of factors that damage the liver, such as viruses, alcohol consumption and obesity.
Liver disease does not always have obvious signs and symptoms, and when symptoms do occur they may include: yellow color of the skin and eyes (jaundice), abdominal pain, bloating, swelling of the legs and ankles, itchy skin, dark-colored urine, whitish-colored stools, chronic fatigue, nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, and easy ecchymosis of the skin.
If any of these symptoms appear, you need to go to the hospital in time to check your liver function, etc. to determine your condition and get timely treatment.
