The origin of "Goubuli"
Goubuli started in Xianfeng period of Qing Dynasty, and was founded by Guiyouyou, a native of Xiazhu Village, Wuqing County, Zhili Province. Guiyouyou's name was "Gouzi". He lived in Tianjin since childhood and worked as a helper and apprentice at the Liujia Steamed Restaurant on the bank of Nanyun River at that time. Guiyouyou mastered the craft of making steamed buns and other pasta for three years, and then opened a snack shop named "Dejuhao" to specialize in steamed buns.
At that time, Deju's steamed stuffed bun was good in color, smell and shape, and its business was very prosperous. Noble friends were too busy to talk to customers. Therefore, many customers joked that he was "a dog selling steamed stuffed buns and ignoring people". "Goubuli" got its name, and the buns he manages are also called "Goubuli buns".
