The spread of stomach cancer in the late stage usually lasts for about one year. The following are the characteristics of stomach cancer. It is still necessary to take a biopsy or something like that to check it out, and it is very difficult to distinguish the symptoms of stomach cancer in each stage. 1. More than 70% of the early stage stomach cancers do not have any obvious symptoms, but as the condition develops, there may be non-specific symptoms similar to gastritis or gastric ulcers, which include fullness and discomfort in the epigastric region or hidden pain, acidity, belching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, indigestion, positive fecal occult blood or black stools, unexplained weakness, and a lack of energy. Symptoms of advanced gastric cancer (i.e. middle and late gastric cancer) include pain in the stomach area, which is often biting and not obviously related to eating, or similar to peptic ulcer pain, which can be relieved after eating. There are feeling of fullness and heaviness in the upper abdomen, anorexia, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, emaciation, anemia, edema, fever and so on. Cancer of cardia mainly manifests as discomfort, pain or retrosternal pain under the raphe, accompanied by obstruction of eating or difficulty in swallowing; cancer of gastric fundus and subcardia often has no obvious symptom, and it is not until the tumor is huge and necrosis and ulceration occurs to cause upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding that attention is drawn to it, or the infiltration of the tumor extends to cardia and causes difficulty in swallowing that attention is paid to it; cancer of gastric body takes distended type as the most common, and the pain and discomfort appear later; cancer of gastric sinus small curvature takes ulcerative type as the most common; cancer of gastric body takes ulcerative type as the most common. When the tumor extends to the pyloric orifice, it can cause nausea, vomiting and other symptoms of pyloric obstruction. Metastatic spread of cancer can cause ascites, hepatomegaly, jaundice and metastasis to lung, brain, heart, prostate, ovary, bone marrow and other corresponding symptoms.
