Off-year is a traditional day of offering sacrifices to stoves in China, which is also called "New Year's Festival", "Kitchen God Festival", "Off-year Festival" and "Off-year Festival". Due to the vast territory of China, there are great differences in customs between the north and the south, and the days called "off-year" are also different. The off-year in most parts of the south is the 24th of the twelfth lunar month, while the off-year in most parts of the north is the 23rd of the twelfth lunar month. Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai call "the 24th of the twelfth lunar month" and "the night before New Year's Eve" off-year. Nanjing called the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month as off-year. In some parts of Yunnan, the off-year is the 16th day of the first month, and in some parts of southwest and north, the off-year is New Year's Eve. The specific time of the southern off-year in 2024 is February 3 of the Gregorian calendar.
