Source This product is the processed resin of Toxicodendron vernicifluum (Stokes) F.A.Barkl. dry products. Generally, the paint residue left at the bottom of the paint container is collected and dried.

Characteristics: This product is in the shape of irregular lumps, dark brown or tan, with rough surface, honeycomb-like holes or granules. It is hard, not easy to break, and the cross section is uneven. It has a special odor.

Identification

(1) Take a small piece of this product, place it in a porcelain evaporator, ignite it and it will burn, producing black smoke and a strong paint smell.

(2) Take 1g of this product powder, add 10ml of ethanol, heat it in a hot water bath for 5 minutes, let it cool, and filter. Take 1 ml of the filtrate and add 1 to 2 drops of ferric chloride test solution to make it appear dark green.

Process the dry paint and put it on the fire to burn it; or break it into small pieces and fry it in a pot until the black smoke disappears, take it out and let it cool.

Its nature and flavor are pungent and warm; poisonous.

Returns to the liver and spleen meridians.

Functions: Breaking blood stasis, eliminating accumulation, and killing insects. It is used for amenorrhea, blood stasis, abdominal pain due to worm infestation in women.

Usage and dosage: 2.4~4.5g.

Please note that pregnant women and those with physical weakness and no blood stasis should use with caution.

Store in airtight storage and prevent from fire.
