Dr. Yingnian Miao reminds, "Once a snakebite occurs, it is best to immediately tie a knot above the location of the bite with a rope, or even higher in the wrist area if it bites the hand. Use a knife to cut open the wound to help the venom discharge."

Doctors also reminded that more than a decade ago, Zhongshan had a case of people bitten by snakes died in the middle of a long transit. Therefore, it is best for snakebite victims to find a medical institution for treatment within two hours.

Miu Yingnian said: "There are three main categories, cobra, green bamboo snake, silver ring snake.
