Narrative of Guodanpi
The origin of the name Guodanpi: There was a court writer named Gao Shiqi in the Qing Dynasty who participated in the expedition of Emperor Kangxi to pacify Galdan. In the thirty-sixth year of Kangxi's reign, that is, in 1697, Gao Shiqi wrote a seven-character poem called Guozidan on his way to Ningxia with Kangxi to supervise the division. The poem said: Cyanotic red penetrates the bone, the oil is thin, the fist is smooth, the powder is even, and the wax is even. . The military writings have been wiped out, but the traces of them have disappeared. When the mouth becomes dry, thoughts suddenly rejuvenate. Gao Shiqi added hawthorn under the fruit list and boiled the pulp to make it, which is as thin as paper, even and can be rolled up. The color is cyanotic, hence the name Guozidan.
