The sturgeon was caught on October 12, 2004 in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River. Total length of 3.2 meters, weighing 222 kilograms, for the female, is currently known to be the largest wild Chinese sturgeon (currently known live wild Chinese sturgeon full length of more than 3 meters is only this one).
