(1) Reasonable watering.
There is no strict requirement for watering cloves. Generally, water should be poured after the soil is dry, and it should be poured thoroughly until water flows out from the bottom of the basin. Don't let water accumulate in the basin. Generally, it is watered once every three days in spring, once every day in summer, once every week in autumn and once every two to three weeks in winter.
(2) Temperature requirements.
The most suitable growth temperature of clove is 16 ~ 22℃, which has certain cold tolerance. However, when the temperature is lower than 0℃, it is prone to freezing injury, so it should be kept indoors in winter to ensure that the indoor temperature is above 5℃, and it should be shaded in summer when it exceeds 32℃.
(3) Lighting requirements.
Jinxiang flower has a certain shade tolerance, but it likes plenty of sunshine, so it should be maintained with plenty of sunshine. Usually, it should be placed in a place with sufficient direct light or scattered light, and it should be shaded by about 50% in summer to avoid high temperature exposure, which is not conducive to the growth of lilacs.
(4) Fertilizer supply.
Generally speaking, lilacs don't need fertilization. Just apply enough fertilizer before planting or in early spring and bury it in the pot soil with cake fertilizer or decomposed organic fertilizer. Then, they don't need fertilization during the whole growth period and flowering period, and they need to supplement appropriate amount of compound fertilizer until the flowers wither.
2. Precautions:
(1) Change pots and soil.
In the cultivation methods and precautions of potted lilacs, pots and soil should be changed every year, usually in spring and autumn. The flowerpot can be changed every two years according to the situation. It is best to change the soil once a year. Trim the roots after moving the basin, and apply sufficient base fertilizer after changing the soil.
(2) Prune regularly.
Branches and leaves are also pruned mainly before the spring growth period and after the autumn leaves fall. Pruning in spring will cut off the fast-growing branches, which are too dense to control their growth. Pruning in autumn is mainly to cut off weak and diseased branches, to preserve nutrients for winter, and also to facilitate the growth and flowering of lilacs in the coming year.
