The origin of Hakkas
There are not many theories about the origin of the word Hakka. One is that it originated from the "guest-giving system" in the Eastern Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties and the "customer" system in the Tang and Song Dynasties. The first theory originated from the appellation of Hui, Chao, Jia, Ting and Jiangxi immigrants (who were already locals in the border area of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi at that time) by people in western Guangdong in the early Qing Dynasty. There is also a symmetry relative to the "Lord", that is, the meaning of outsiders.

As an immigrant group of ancient Han nationality in South China, Hakka is one of the most influential ethnic groups in the world.

In history, almost all ethnic groups have experienced the migration of past dynasties and developed to this day. Today, the aborigines in Beijing, Shanghai and other places are mainly immigrants hundreds of years ago, especially in Guangdong, Fujian and Taiwan Province. Therefore, in the migration history of thousands of years, Hakka people have become aborigines in many places like other migrant groups.

Extended data:

Hakka is an important group that has lived in southern China for more than 2,000 years since the Qin Dynasty. It is one of the main local ethnic groups in Guangdong (Guangfu, Hakka, Chaoshan, Gaoliang in western Guangdong, Siyi, Hailufeng, Shaomin in northern Guangdong, etc.) and one of the important local ethnic groups in Jiangxi and Fujian.

Several major ethnic groups in Guangdong were formed by mixing and assimilating the earliest indigenous people in Lingnan, Baiyue. Hakka clan was not formed later than other clans in Guangdong. Because Hakka language was originally elegant in the Central Plains, it only absorbed some indigenous languages when it arrived in the south, but its main body is still elegant in the Middle Ages.

It can correspond to the pronunciations recorded in ancient rhymes such as Qieyun, Tangyun, Guang Yun and Jiyun, and still retains a large number of classical Chinese words, such as you, me and he in Hakka pronunciation are Er, Wu and their ancient sounds. Hakkas did not come to Guangdong later than other ethnic groups. The earliest settlers in Meizhou, Heyuan and Huizhou in Guangdong were the Hakka ancestors who mixed the original ancient Yue ethnic groups.
