Species definition
Both cherries and cherries are common fruits, which can be regarded as the same species in biological classification, belonging to the plant kingdom, angiosperms, dicotyledonous plants, Rosaceae, deciduous shrubs or trees of Prunus. However, cherries mainly refer to deep red big-fruit thick-skinned cherries introduced from abroad (a new variety formed by crossing European sweet cherries and European sour cherries), while cherries mostly refer to light red small-fruit thin-skinned cherries produced in China.
