Octopus with a total length of less than 15 cm likes to eat shrimp and small fish, while octopus with a total length of more than 25 cm likes to eat larger bream, carp and other fish, and also likes to eat flat and slender fish. When they are hungry and have no other bait, they even devour each other to maintain their lives.
Feeding of mandarin fish
Bait fish: The natural feeding habit of Siniperca chuatsi is to eat live fish, and there are generally three sources of bait fish:
(1) Buy domestic fish with appropriate size for closed culture and feed them at any time;
② Cultivation and collection of wild hybrid fish fry. Each osmanthus fish pond should be equipped with about 3 bait fish culture ponds, which can be used to put carp, crucian carp or some wild miscellaneous fish with early culture time and large quantity, and breed a large number of fry for claw fish to eat;
③ Feed the bait fish directly. In order to save fish ponds, some small fish with more breeding times, such as wheat ear fish and striped fish, can be directly put into fish ponds to meet the needs of fish.
Feeding: It takes about 5,000 baited fish (about 3kg) to cultivate 0.5kg of commercial fish from 0.5g (about 3cm long) of Eriocheir sinensis fry. According to the growth and weather conditions of fish, bait fish should be put in time, preferably 3-5 days 1 time, to ensure a certain density of bait fish in the pond, and as much as possible when the bait source is sufficient.
