The history of chicken
China is the first country to domesticate chickens in the world, with a history of at least 4,000 years. In Hubei, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Gansu and other provinces, there are chicken bones or pottery chickens more than 4,000 years ago. China domestic chickens are domesticated by pheasants, and there are many excellent breeds, among which Jiujin Huang and Langshan Chicken are very famous.
Jiujin Huang, also known as Pudong Chicken, is a large-scale broiler with yellow feathers, beak and feet, so it is also known as Sanhuang Chicken. Nine catties of yellow, extremely large, delicious meat, so it is welcomed by people all over the world and has played a great role in improving the variety of domestic chickens in the world.
1843 was first introduced to Britain, and 1847 was imported to the United States. American Rock Chicken is a cross between nine catties of yellow from China and American chicken with black and white spots in 1865. Japanese introduced China chickens in the Sui Dynasty, and at the end of the shogunate, nine catties of Shanghai yellow chickens were introduced to cultivate the famous Nagoya egg and meat chicken.
Langshan chicken is mainly produced in Jiangsu, which has strong disease resistance and developed breast chicken. 1872 was imported into the UK, and the famous British breed, Opinton Chicken, was a cross between Langshan Chicken and local chicken. Later, Langshan chicken was imported to the United States and Germany. It can be seen that the ancient domestic chicken breeds in China have a great influence on the world.
