Introduction to Ferula

Ferula is the resin of the plant Xinjiang Ferula or Fukang Ferula, family Umbelliferae. The flowers of this herb are usually in full bloom towards the end of spring and the beginning of summer, which is the best time to harvest, except for before the first fruits.

Color of Ferula

The color of Ferula varies slightly, with a waxy yellow or brownish-yellow surface, and a lighter color on the inside, which darkens as it sits. Ferula is lumpy, with a texture closer to wax and some voids in the cross-section. Ferula is mainly distributed in the Gobi Beach or barren mountains in Xinjiang.
