With the improvement of people's living standards, the requirements for the variety, quality and health care of vegetables are getting higher and higher, especially the pollution-free and residue-free vegetables are favored by the public. As a new type of special vegetable, sprouts just became popular in China in the early 1990s. At first, researcher Wang Chunde from the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences systematically studied the production technology of sprouts, which was popularized in various provinces and cities across the country and was well received by producers and consumers. The development momentum is good. Producers have achieved high economic benefits, which are several times higher than those obtained by conventional vegetable production. It is a short, smooth and fast project for rural farmers to get rich and run towards a well-off society.
Its production cycle is short, and it can be put on the market in 7- 10 days. Its production place is not limited, and it can be produced in factories, greenhouses, courtyards and family houses. The technology is simple and easy to learn, and even the elderly and children can participate. Simply sow, water and mix vegetables. More importantly, sprouts are deeply loved by the public because of their special nutrients and flavor, and the market sales volume need not be considered. It contains many nutrients that conventional vegetables do not have. In particular, it can transform many plant proteins that are difficult to be absorbed by the human body into amino acids, minerals, vitamins and other substances that are easily absorbed by the human body after culture. Even most sprouts have dual effects of dietotherapy, and are most suitable for the elderly as health food.
There is great flexibility in production, and the investment can be large or small. For laid-off workers or people with difficulties in life, this project can also be used as a way to make a living. For enterprises with abundant funds, specialized planting factories can be established for industrialized commercial production. For example, many enterprises at home and abroad have adopted this factory production mode and achieved good economic and social benefits. Zhengzhou Luye Company, Hong Kong Bud Vegetable Factory, Ningbo Wulongtan and other enterprises have become local leading agricultural enterprises through bud vegetables. In terms of production methods, it is suitable for both family workshops and factory production, which can be sold in street vegetable markets and wholesale brands, as well as large hotels, restaurants, canteens, or island outposts and military bases. Therefore, the cultivation of sprouts has been quietly popularized in China in recent years.
However, there are also some shortcomings, such as different production processes, no production standards and poor product quality consistency. Some units or individuals even use chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which also affects the healthy development of the industry. In addition, it also has the characteristics of large labor input, factory, automation and low intelligence, which is not conducive to the industrial operation of this technology. Unlike foreign countries, such as Japan, computer-controlled production of sprouts has long been implemented, which can make the production workshop of sprouts unmanned. The sprout production in developed countries has changed from labor-intensive to capital and technology-intensive. Using the intelligent control of the factory workshop and computer, the intelligent and unmanned aseptic operation was realized, and the quality and output of the produced sprouts greatly exceeded the current domestic level. Therefore, in order to further develop the sprout industry, finding a production mode that can be combined with modern agriculture will be the main mode of sprout production in the future, which is of great significance to promote the development of sprout industry.
