Why are the colors of scallops different? Which is better?
Bay scallop is a kind of hermaphrodite shellfish with orange, brown, yellow, purple and white shell colors. Based on the heritability of shell color and the mating strategy of self-fertilization, four *** 1 1 bay scallop inbred lines were successfully established in 2 0 0 2, and the biological parameters such as fertilized egg size, embryo hatching rate, growth rate and survival rate of larvae and juveniles, and feeding stage were compared. The results showed that there was no difference in the growth rate and survival rate of different families with three shell colors in the early development stage of larvae and juveniles, but in the cultivation stage, the growth rate and survival rate of families with white shell color were significantly higher than those with other two shell colors in July and August when the temperature was higher.
