How to taste tea?
Simply put, tasting tea is to appreciate the color, fragrance and taste of tea with your mouth, eyes and nose. It is best to use a white porcelain cup for tea tasting, because it is easier to observe the color of tea soup when it is poured into the white porcelain cup.
The steps of tea tasting can generally be divided into smelling tea fragrance, watching tea color, drinking tea soup and watching the bottom of leaves.
1, smell the tea
First, pour the tea soup into a white porcelain cup or a fragrant cup, and smell the fragrance of tea with your nose, such as floral fragrance, frankincense, fruity fragrance, etc., all of which follow the types and preparation methods of tea. After smelling the aroma, we began to look for bad smells, such as smelly green, sour, musty or miscellaneous, which were caused by improper tea making process or collection.
Step 2 pay attention to brown
After smelling the fragrance, observe the color of tea soup. Good tea leaves can make bright and clear tea soup. If the color of tea soup is too strong or too light, it may be that the tea leaves have been soaked for too long or not enough time. Ordinary professional tea tasters can know whether the tea is brewed properly by looking at the tea soup.
Step 3 drink tea and soup
After observing the color of the tea soup, take a sip, put the tea soup in your mouth, and stir the tea soup with the tip of your tongue. The astringency is at the tip of the tongue, and the bitterness is at the root of the tongue. Stirring tea soup with your tongue is helpful to stimulate your tongue's taste and taste the bitter, sweet and astringent taste of tea soup.
4. Look at the bottom of the leaves
After swallowing tea, take a deep breath or stand up and walk. This helps to send the tea fragrance to the throat, resulting in the so-called throat sweetness. After drinking, pour out the tea leaves and observe the integrity and size of the tea leaves. Usually, good tea leaves are complete big leaves.
