Introduction of Tangya Tusi City Site
Tangya Tusi City Site is located 3 kilometers east of Jianshan Township, Xianfeng County, Hubei Province. It is the most typical site in the minority areas of Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou. The site was built in the early Yuan Dynasty and lasted for more than 470 years. In its heyday, the "Shuaifu" in Tangya was large and magnificent, covering an area of 577,500 square meters. It has three streets, 18 lane and 36 courtyards, and is equipped with facilities such as yamen, official lecture hall, large and small yamen, deposit vault, prison cell, academy, shooting range, left and right military camps, royal garden, animal garden and so on. For more than 260 years, despite the devastation of the Cultural Revolution several times, the street walls are still clear and some buildings are still well preserved. It is the most typical, largest and best preserved site of Tangya Tusi City in the minority areas of Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou. Inside and outside the city, cultural landscapes are all over the city. Among them, the most important are large-scale stone carvings such as stone statues, stone horses and stone archways, earth tombs and ancient tombs, couple fir trees, Princess Springs and dozens of other scenic spots.
