Zhizhiren is the mature fruit of Zingiberaceae herbaceous plant. It has the effects of nourishing the kidneys and strengthening essence, reducing stool, warming the spleen and stopping diarrhea, and extracting saliva. For spermatorrhea and premature diarrhea, it is often used with golden cherry, keel, and dogwood; for frequent urination and enuresis, it is often used with yam and black medicine, such as Shuiquan Wan; for spleen yang deficiency and spontaneous salivation, it is often used with Codonopsis pilosula, Atractylodes macrocephala, and dried ginger.
