(1) Gully storage: This method is often used in Shandong, Hebei and other places. First of all, we should choose a place with flat and dry terrain, leeward and sunny, difficult to accumulate water and convenient transportation to dig storage ditches. The direction of the ditch should be north and south. Generally, the upper width of the ditch is 100 cm ~120 cm, the depth of the ditch is 50 cm ~ 60 cm, and the lower width is 70 cm ~ 80 cm. The length of the ditch depends on the storage capacity and topography. The bottom of the ditch should be flat. Pave fine wet sand with a thickness of10cm ~15cm, spread it out and compact it. Then pile the selected hawthorn on it, each layer is 40 cm ~ 50 cm thick, and the top of the pile is roof-shaped, and then gradually sinks into a flat shape. Before storage, cover the grass curtain or reed mat during the day and uncover the heat at night. In the later stage, it is mainly anti-freezing. When the local frost is more than two fingers deep, the top should be covered with hay, leaves and other cold protection, and then gradually add soil with the temperature dropping, with a thickness of 30 cm to 40 cm. A small drainage ditch should be dug on both sides of the ditch.

In some areas, hawthorn is hidden in ditch sand, and its specifications are the same as before. It's just that the effect is different, that is, put a layer of fruit and cover it with a layer of wet fine sand until the top. (2) Burying method: also called pit hiding method.
