Remove the branches of the collected mugwort, leaving only the mugwort leaves, and place the mugwort leaves in the sun to dry.
Natural drying is by no means comparable to a dryer.
2
The dried mugwort is stored for a long time.
When used, it is sorted for the first time to remove impurities, branches, etc.
The impurities picked out include thick mugwort stalks, rods, small sand, and gravel.
Carefully picked by hand to filter out impurities.
Machine-made moxa velvet requires sand, gravel and soil.
It cannot be compared with artificial moxa.
3
Put the first sorted mugwort leaves into a stone mortar, and
pound the remaining 1,000 pieces.
It is difficult to find a stone mortar,
a garlic pounding utensil at home can be used instead.
4
The mugwort leaves, which have been tempered for thousands of times, are sorted for the second time.
After the second sorting, the mugwort leaves are put into the stone mortar again,
and hammered for more than 2,000 times, and
are turned into fine velvet.
Pounded moxa velvet,
Carefully selected for the third time.
No matter how small the impurities are,
they cannot escape the eyes of workers.
5
The moxa velvet was sorted three times and fined.
The sieved moxa velvet was sorted for the fourth time.
The finished moxa velvet is produced.
Although artificial production is complex,
there are still impurities that cannot be eliminated.
Its imperfections are exactly what proves its perfection.
Moxa velvet is made by machine, and under the stirring of steel,
The sand and gravel are all reduced to ashes, which is not good moxa velvet.
It is said that when things go to extremes, they must be reversed.
