Where is mustard extracted from?

Mustard is made from ground mustard seeds or horseradish (horse radish).

Mustard can be categorized into yellow mustard and green mustard, and different mustards have different origins and ingredients.

Yellow mustard is used mustard seeds ground to get, the flavor of spicy with bitter, commonly used as a cold dish seasoning. As early as the Zhou Dynasty, yellow mustard was already present in the court.

Green mustard, also known as green mustard, first originated in Europe, is made from horseradish (horse radish), which is then colored green. The wasabi seasoning used in sushi restaurants is mostly green wasabi.

Types of green wasabi

There are 3 types of green wasabi, namely, mashed, paste, and powdered, and there are different ways to eat it:

Mashed wasabi - wasabi root is freshly grated, and it has the best flavor.
