Because of the distance (mainly because airfare is too expensive), there are not many Chinese going to Ukraine, and there can be about a thousand or so international students in the country.

There are about 15,000 other Chinese, most of whom are engaged in trade and Chinese catering, mainly in the major cities of Kiev, Kharkiv and Odessa, and trade mainly in the outdoor free market. Odessa is predominant, and most of the wealthy Chinese are also there.

There are about two hundred people who have acquired citizenship, and this is in the capital Kiev, other cities are not known.
