The Department of Environmental Science and Engineering is the key construction and development department of the College, with two environmental majors, namely, environmental monitoring and evaluation, environmental monitoring and treatment technology, and two architectural majors, namely, architectural engineering technology and architectural decoration engineering technology. The department has a strong faculty, with 27 full-time teachers, all of whom have bachelor degree or above, and 15 graduate students. There are 1 visiting professors, 5 associate professors, 11 lecturers, 1 senior engineers and 1 experimenters. The experimental facilities are relatively complete. There are experimental training rooms for inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, environmental microbiology, environmental monitoring and environmental engineering, as well as large-scale instrument analysis centers for environmental majors, and experimental training rooms for architectural drawing, computer-aided design, architectural mechanics, building materials, electronics and electricians and professional studios for architectural majors.

There are more than 11 off-campus training bases.
in addition to participating in the specialized transfer program organized by the college and going to Korea for further study, the department also works closely with the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the School of Resources and Environment of Yangzhou University. When students graduate, they can go to Yangzhou University for specialized undergraduate study (three years) or independent undergraduate study (two years), which opens up various channels for students to further their studies.
