The Department of Chemistry of Nanjing Xiaozhuang College has two directions of Chemistry Education (Bilingual) and Analytical Technology, and five teaching and research departments including Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Chemistry Teaching and Learning Theory, as well as two research institutes of Materials and Information Chemistry and Applied Chemistry. There are nearly 30 full-time teachers in the department, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 senior laboratory technician and 3 master's degree supervisors. In recent years, the Department of Chemistry has achieved remarkable results in all aspects of discipline construction, faculty building, talent training, laboratory construction, teaching reform and scientific research. In order to reflect the characteristics of talent cultivation, the Department of Chemistry has infiltrated bilingual teaching into the whole process of professional education, ensuring professional standards and highlighting the English characteristics, so that the chemistry (bilingual) program has achieved a series of teaching achievements and scientific research results above the provincial level in education and teaching. Analytical chemistry has been recognized as a key discipline at the faculty level; the key course of "Organic Chemistry" was awarded the second prize of Jiangsu Higher Education Institutions' Excellent Courses in 2004; and the faculty-level key teaching reform project "Research and Practice of Cultivating Bilingual Secondary School Chemistry Teachers with Comprehensive Qualities in the 21st Century" has achieved a fruitful result. The key teaching reform project of the faculty "Research and Practice on Cultivating Bilingual Secondary School Chemistry Teachers with Comprehensive Qualities in the 21st Century" has achieved fruitful milestones and won the Second Prize of Excellent Teaching Achievements of Jiangsu Province in 2004. The training mode of "bilingual teachers" has already had some influence in China, and in 2006, the chemistry major was selected as the construction point of specialties in Jiangsu universities.

Since 2000, the teachers of the Department of Chemistry have published more than 300 academic papers in various journals at home and abroad. Among them, there are nearly 60 SCI, SCIE and EI source journals. The laboratories of the Department of Chemistry are equipped with a number of advanced instruments at home and abroad, such as D8-XRD diffractometer, Nikoli 5700 infrared spectrophotometer, Agilent 6890N gas chromatograph, PE2400II elemental analyzer, HP 1100 liquid chromatograph, etc., which are able to satisfy the needs of scientific research and teaching of chemistry and other related disciplines. In 2006, the Chemistry Laboratory Teaching Center was selected as a demonstration center for basic experimental teaching in Jiangsu Province.

The graduates of the Department of Chemistry have been welcomed by employers for years, and the employment rate has remained above 95% in recent years.

Introduction of the Department of Physical Education

The Department of Physical Education now has 26 teachers, including 2 full professors, 10 associate professors, 9 lecturers, 5 master's degree (one of them graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sports in Cologne, Germany, and is the first Asian to obtain a master's degree in sports management), and the senior teachers account for more than More than 50% of the faculty members are senior teachers. College of Educational Sciences is the earliest second-level college established by the university, and also one of the largest second-level colleges of the university.
