There are horseflies in the tropical jungles of China, Guangxi and Yunnan provinces.
Horse flies like tropical rain forests, because the temperature has always been relatively high, suitable for the growth of parasites. The horsefly is an insect belonging to the family Tabanidae of Diptera. Adults are bigger than ordinary flies, with big heads and fine hairs on their bodies, like bees. Mouth degenerates, does not eat food, and mainly lives on the blood of mammals.
Guangxi and Yunnan in China are suitable for the growth of horseflies. Living in the wild. Eggs are laid on the hair of horses, donkeys, mules, etc. The hatched larvae are brought into the body when the animals lick their hair and parasitize in the stomach.
Harm of horsefly and its control
After the horsefly larvae enter the skin, they feed on human subcutaneous tissue, and the victim's body will form ulcerative swelling and pain. When it grows to the size of an almond (about three-quarters of an adult's little finger), it begins to crawl out, climb out of the skin, fall to the ground, pupate, become a horse fly, and then start looking for the next target. This horsefly can attack various hosts including humans, so it is called "human horsefly".
Before removing the maggots, apply vaseline to the wound to isolate the air and let the maggots "suffocate". After 24 hours, open the vaseline and clamp it with tweezers. Of course, it can also be pulled out while alive, but in this way, they will continue to distort and the patient may feel more pain.
