Unable to resist the excitement, we set off from the hotel early in the morning. However, due to the continuous rainstorm, the only road from Kenting to Fangliao and Kaohsiung was blocked by mudslides, and the emergency repair work did not end until nearly noon. Our trip was delayed for half a day.
When we arrived at the railway station, it was already afternoon. As we came late, the train ticket from Fangcao to Hualien was very tight. As a last resort, we had to take the Hadron train from Fangcao to Taitung, and then transfer to Juguang train to Hualien. Before departure, I learned on the official website of Taiwan Railway that from Taichung to Hualien, apart from the shuttle bus, the slowest is Juguang. But Taroko and Puyuma, which I want to take most, didn't have a train that day, which made me very depressed. Because I heard that the Taiwan Railway lunch is more delicious than the high-speed rail lunch, I am hungry to buy a lunch on the train before lunch. The staff used the elevator to carry luggage and cross the railway with us. In the distance came the creaking sound of wheels rubbing against the rails: here comes the train!
If Taiwan Province's high-speed rail is nine points similar to the Japanese Shinkansen, then Hadron's train is the Kyosaka tram! It's just that the interior of the Kyosaka tram is arranged like a subway. The train started, accompanied by a dull sound, which made people feel very uncomfortable. The seats on the train are spacious, but they are all full. Following one long black tunnel after another, our train is crossing the mountains in central Taiwan Province Province. It was dark outside the window. All I can do is fantasize about my destination.
After about a few minutes, our eyes suddenly opened. I heard that this train can see the sea, so you must take the right side. At the station, I repeatedly begged the enthusiastic ticket seller for a ticket near the window on the right. Now I find that this ticket was not bought for nothing! On the right side of the train is the endless Pacific Ocean, and we are driving on the long coastline. In contrast, the sea here is much fiercer than the Indian Ocean, which may be due to the weather! Layers of waves roll over the beaches and rocks, the sky is foggy, and the cloud pressure is very low, as if it would engulf itself at any time. At this time, I began to be glad that I was sitting in the train and had a hard shell to protect me from the sea and the wind and rain. If the Sri Lankan sea train is "as romantic as Spirited Away", then this section of railway in Taiwan Province Province must be an advanced version of Spirited Away. Although I can't feel the salty sea water and the sea breeze slowly, my heart can still rise and fall with the tide.
Unconsciously, Taitung Railway Station arrived. It was getting late at this time, and I was reluctant to go to the other side of the platform. The Juguang train has already stopped there. We were lucky that the train arrived here on time, which made the big stone in my heart fall to the ground. It's still early to leave the car. We put our luggage on our seats, strolled on the platform and took pictures from the front of the car to the rear of the car. It was dark before we realized it. Accompanied by harsh bells and melodious whistles, we headed for the night.
This train is completely different from the scene just now. Except for us, there are only three or five people in the carriage. Everyone chooses their favorite seats and poses leisurely. On the way, I went to other carriages and found that most of the other carriages were only one or two people. I can't accept the sharp contrast with the crowd just now. What disappoints me most is that the train hasn't sold lunch for a long time! I haven't even seen a snack cart. There is no one except the cleaning aunt who pushes the car to collect garbage from time to time and the similar conductor who just passed by our carriage. By this time, we were already hungry, and the air conditioner in the car made me shiver. It's really cold and hungry! I had to sleep, and vaguely smelled a fragrance, accompanied by the sound of the car door being opened. "bento!" I shouted in my sleep. But when I opened my eyes, all I saw was a garbage truck, and there was no sign of lunch. The faint fragrance comes from a packet of rice balls opened by the person sitting in front. "Trains leaving after six don't sell lunch." Aunt cleaning said helplessly to me. Our car left at 6: 09, but it's only been 9 minutes! These nine minutes have insulated me from my beloved Taiwan Railway! I can only give up the idea of having lunch and go to Hualien hungry.
Every time I take the train, I have a different experience, but I always leave some regrets, and there will be more surprises next time!
