Ceng Zi (505 BC-435 BC) was born in Nanwucheng (Chengxiang Town, Jiaxiang County, Shandong Province). He was a thinker in the late Spring and Autumn Period, one of the disciples of Confucius in his later years, an important representative of Confucianism and a descendant of Yu Xia.

In 435 BC, Zhou died at the age of 7 1 year. Ceng Zi played an important role in the development of Confucianism. Later generations honored him as "Zongsheng" and became one of the four major matches of Confucius Temple, second only to "Fu Sheng" Yan Yuan.

It advocates Confucianism with filial piety and faithfulness as the core, the political view of "self-cultivation, keeping the family at peace with the world" and the self-cultivation view of "introspection and being cautious about independence", while the filial piety view based on filial piety still has extremely valuable social significance and practical value.
