Hakka customs and habits
take a wife
Hakka weddings in western Fujian are unique. When the men's wedding procession arrives at the women's home, the bride should stand at the door, put on new shoes and stand in a rice screen with gossip and Tai Chi patterns, which is called "crossing the rice screen". This is a symbol of leaving the soil (wealth) of her mother's family to start a business in her husband's family. Then the bride was carried out of the house, and when she got on the bus, her brother threw a bowl of water on the car to show that the married woman threw water. At this point, the bride will cry. After arriving at the man's house, the bride should cross the hot charcoal stove to show "wealth". After that, the wedding procedure begins.

At that time, there were many printing houses and bookstores here, and there were hundreds of local booksellers, with fixed-point distribution and mobile sales. Foreign booksellers also came to sell in batches in an endless stream, which made Bao Si's printed books "monopolize the south of the Yangtze River, sell well all over the country and spread overseas" and became one of the four woodblock printing bases in China at that time. In the woodcut exhibition hall, pieces of black mottled wood are rigid. Because this place is located in a remote mountainous area, it has the feeling that the mountain is high and the emperor is far away. At that time, many banned books in China, such as Jin Ping Mei, were printed here, which made the woodblock printing in Bao Si more prosperous.
