"Sacrifice" took only two months from shooting to release.

As a film and television work to pay tribute to the 70th anniversary of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the preparation plan for Sacrifice has already started. In March 2020, the project was established at the expense, and shooting began in August. In the meantime, the preparations for shooting are ready.

In order to better restore the fighting state of the volunteers 70 years ago, Zhang Yi and Jason Wu also received anti-aircraft gun operation training half a month in advance, trying to master every link skillfully. Li Jiuxiao and Vision Wei also learned the skills of using firearms and the construction process of tower cranes.

In order to make the film released as scheduled, Guan Hu, Frant Gwo and Lu Yang also divided the film into three groups and started shooting at the same time, presenting the content of the film from three angles: the engineering company of the Volunteers who built the bridge, the US Air Force and the anti-aircraft guns of the Volunteers.

Among them, director Guan Hu is responsible for shooting ground scenes in Dandong, Liaoning Province, director Frant Gwo is responsible for shooting and making air force scenes in Beijing greenhouses, and director Yang Lu is responsible for shooting volunteer infantry actions and explosions on river banks and Woods. In this way, it also saves time.

During the filming of Sacrifice, the actors only slept four hours a day:

Due to tight time and heavy tasks, most actors, including Zhang Yi, only slept for four hours every day during filming, and the rest of the time was preparing and participating in filming. Even though filming was so hard, Zhang Yi said with emotion after the special screening ceremony that it was the most cost-effective film he had ever made, because he liked the script so much.

In addition, a staff member revealed that Zhang Yi, who occasionally rests on the set, is not idle, and often shares his filming methods and experiences with younger actors without putting on airs.
