Creation background
In order to write "The History of Louis XIV", Dumas looked for information in the Royal Library and came across a book "Memoirs of Mr. D 'Artagnan". Like most works of that period, this book was published in the Redstone Bookstore in Amsterdam, because the author of that period insisted on telling the truth and didn't want to stay in the Bastille for a long or short time.
D 'Artagnan described that when he first visited Mr. De Trevor, the captain of the King's Firearms Team, he met three young people in the waiting room. They worked in the famous armies he asked to hire. Their names were Ados, Bordeaux and aramis.
These three foreign names attracted Dumas' attention, but they were all pseudonyms, which D 'Artagnan used to hide some names that might be very prominent, or the people who used these names themselves chose them because of willfulness, dissatisfaction or lack of money on the day they put on the uniform of ordinary musketeers. Until one day, the author found records related to these strange names that once caused curiosity in contemporary works.
