Shared Farm: Transformation of Hongguoshu and Tavern
For people living in Beijing, it only takes more than an hour to drive north, and the picture in front of them can be "green" all the way from high buildings. The smell of Shan Ye has spread all the way, and the distant mountains have become more and more "close at hand".
At the foot of Yanshan Mountain, Zhangjiazhuang Village, Miyun District, which is becoming increasingly "hollow" with the development of the city, has ushered in a revival.
General axonometric drawing of Zhangjiazhuang village
The original village style and architectural form of the site are relatively complete, and the rhythm of villagers' life appears leisurely under the background of modern culture. This state provides a space for busy urbanites who are eager to embrace the Walden-style natural human settlement atmosphere with the vision of "seeking the wild by courtesy".
For architects, it is difficult to find the possibility of diversified development of cities and nature, and the original ecological countryside is a fertile soil full of hope, which is enough to reorganize the relationship between people, architecture and nature, internalize the traditional and current local culture, and make it a considerable and perceptible form and symbol, and penetrate into life.
The smallest two homesteads in Zhangjiazhuang Village (each covering an area of two and a half, about 166 square meters) have become the experimental fields for architects of "spatial evolution", and they have merged into the revival tide of the village with two formats of residence and operation. The distance between the two courtyards is about 50 meters, and the chapters echo each other, forming an attraction and demonstration effect, which opens up new possibilities for realizing the overall evolution of village space from point to surface.
Lifestyle: sharing farm mangroves
The positioning of the project is rural housing in the suburbs of the city. This building needs to provide a completely different lifestyle for people who have lived in the city for a long time, and at the same time, it needs to meet the functional demands of contemporary life. From a macro perspective, this preservation and respect for rural culture and the introduction of new business models are leading the transformation of a cultural and economic structure and shaping the unique lifestyle of the East.
Therefore, the architect fully respected the spirit of place endowed by the rural environment when transforming the original farmhouse, and retained the space ceremony and appearance texture of the original courtyard. In the yard, a "twenty-something" red fruit tree (a kind of hawthorn with large fruit, which is called "red fruit" by local people, and "red fruit" is not hawthorn) was carefully preserved, and the scene of sitting around the tree awakened people's memories of nature and home. The courtyard of the shared farm is also named "Hongguoshu" after this.
As soon as you enter the village, you can see the yard at the foot of the mountain along the guidance of green trees. From a distance, the building is not obvious, so I humbly accompany the nearby farmhouse.
The layout order of the traditional courtyard in China was restored in this shared farm. The existence of the shadow wall not only has the attribute of memory carrier, but also adds a layer of sequence to the entrance, which makes the pedestrians outside full of imagination about what is hidden in the courtyard.
The building is divided into two floors, the first floor is allocated to public space and guest rooms, and the second floor is a complete master bedroom space with tea room and outdoor terrace, which gives people a feeling of being close to nature in a relatively private space.
Elevation of "Red Fruit Tree"
The original building was a wooden roof truss, which was low and shabby and had poor thermal insulation. In order to improve the unfavorable environmental conditions and meet the living needs, the architect demolished the roof and part of the wall, and built a new skeleton with concrete. Due to strict budget requirements, the demolished tiles, rafters and wooden frames were reused.
In order to realize the transparency and coherence of the courtyard vision, the architect used a large area of glass as the main material of the north-south facade on the first floor. When he was indoors, he could enjoy the spring flowers, autumn fruits and twilight fog, and listen to the crisp sound of rain hitting the slate floor, so that the natural scenery became a vivid landscape painting.
This kind of openness is separated from the courtyard, which fully guarantees the privacy of the living space, which is also the continuation of the traditional restrained aesthetics of the house.
In order to ensure that outdoor activities are not afraid of rain and exposure, the building has set up a glass canopy in the south and filtered light with a wooden grille. At the same time, the retention of gray space is a recollection of the traditional architectural form "wind and rain corridor", which has both functional and emotional value.
In the interior, the architect takes white as the main tone, and outdoor materials such as logs and cement extend in, so the overall scenery and courtyard complement each other.
Furniture, ornaments, every detail retains the original texture and texture of the material, but also hides the exquisiteness and temperature of the craft, showing a delicate and interesting living container.
Business model: bistro
In Zhangjiazhuang village, there is no restaurant in the village. If you want to eat, you can only go to another village 3 kilometers away. "Bistro" is a commercial form born based on catering demand. The same respect for the context and texture of the venue, the same area of two and a half homesteads, the same old farmhouse renovation, "pub" is more public than "red fruit tree".
The courtyard wall facing the street is made of masonry, which forms a different style of texture with the plain concrete of the building wall and establishes the most intuitive attraction. There is no adjacent building except the north side of the building. Taking advantage of this advantage, the architect regards the building as a "viewing machine" and sets a window at the best viewing position on the facade, so that the far and near scenery can be "painted".
Elevation view of pub
In order to meet the sense of scale and flexibility in the use of commercial property space, the architect raised the main building facing south to two floors and made a heightening treatment to adapt to indoor catering activities.
"The space under the porch" continues from "Red Fruit Tree" to meet the demand of semi-outdoor dining.
In the yard, the warm woven sofa chairs surrounded the happy atmosphere. The green plants growing wildly in cement flower beds and bamboo stone walls are close-ups, and the low mountains and blue sky are the foreground, which makes the dining atmosphere more "original".
The original wooden frame of the building was replaced by concrete that is more in line with the structure and function, and the demolished old materials were used to repair the remaining building parts.
Beams, purlins, and old walls have all restored their original forms and become awakening memories-everyone who comes to the pub is deeply moved by the collision and dialogue between the wisdom of traditional residential buildings and the language of contemporary civilized buildings.
In addition to the main functions, the supporting functions of catering are also essential. Unlike ordinary restaurants, the taste of the country may need to stay in the boutique.
So in addition to the main dining space, there are three small rooms and a master bedroom. Each room has a window facing the yard and sits in the bamboo shadow room. Residents of the city of hope can come here happily, enjoy food, scenery and life, and enjoy a rest before departure.
Go to the countryside!
"Red Fruit Tree" and "Bistro", two small yards, divided into two halves, two commercial possibilities. While attracting foreign tourists and promoting the new economy, these two small courtyards brewed by local culture are like a mirror, allowing local residents to see themselves, subtly inspiring them to re-recognize their territorial values and cultural values, and providing new choices for career choice and living space creation. The protection of natural ecology and the continuation of traditional culture and folk art all depend on this new rural movement.
