Poland in 1962. Ada was an orphan raised in a convent. Before taking the oath of officially becoming a nun, she left the convent to meet Wanda, her only relative left in the world. Wanda tells Ada that she is Jewish. Two women embark on a journey not only to uncover the tragedy of their families, but to discover where they truly belong. They begin to question their previous beliefs and everything they have trusted in their lives. Anna and Wanda both want to continue living, but only one of them can.
