Titus Flavio Josephus (AD 37- 100), also known as Yue Se, was born in Jerusalem, a Jewish province in Rome at that time. His representative works include History of Ancient Judaism and Jewish War. In the first Jewish-Roman War, he served as an officer of the Jewish rebels. After the surrender, he served as a staff officer and translator of the Roman government and obtained Roman citizenship.
